Catch bright reds on the Frazer River
Kodiak Island is home to several productive Red Salmon systems. The Karluk, Frazer and
Red Lakes together produce an average annual escapement of over 1 million red salmon! The Frazer River system is unique because the reds are continuously entering the river from the sea throughout the summer. This allows you to catch silver bright red salmon!

Kodiak Red Salmon average around 5 pounds and are one of the best fighting of all salmon species. Bringing in one of these reds requires patience, speed and skill with a medium action spinning rod with 14 pound test line or an 8-weight fly-rod. We have designed this fishing package to include 4 fly-out trips. Here is a sample itinerary for the 5-day package:




DAY 1: Guided
Arrive Zachar Bay in the morning. After you get settled in and issued a fishing license, you will go out with your guide for Halibut fishing and salmon trolling in the bay.

DAY 2: Guided
Guided Fly-Out Frazer Lake

DAY 3: Guided
Guided Fly-Out to O’Malley Lake

DAY 4: Guided
Guided Fly-Out to Connecticut Creek

DAY 5: Unguided
Unguided Fly-Out to Uganik Lake

DAY 6:
Depart Zachar Bay in the morning for Kodiak
